A Worship and Learning Experience for Children and Parents
One Sunday each month – 9:05 am
Each month, St. Paul’s holds a very special worship service for families with children. “The Gathering” follows the traditional pattern of a Service of the Word followed by the celebration of Holy Eucharist, but kids get to sit on the floor for a story and respond to the story in artwork or some other medium. (Adults have the option of a separate discussion.)
The Eucharist is celebrated in a prayer that invites a sung response, which kids master quickly. The use of hand motions and American Sign Language further reinforces participation at God’s table.

Sundays – 10:20 am (Except when there is a Gathering)
Children 3 years through 6th grade may register for Church School at any time. Church School begins when the children are dismissed soon after the beginning of the 10:30 am service. The children experience our age-graded educational program and then re-join their parents in the sanctuary just before Communion. Our Church School curriculum is based upon the same Sunday scripture readings used in our worship service.
St. Francis Sunday: Blessing of the Animals
October 7, 2007 – 10:30am service
Bring your furry, feathered and finned pets to our annual Blessing of the Animals service in honor of St. Francis. There is no Church School on this day so that children may enjoy the service with their parents and pets.
Operation Christmas Child
November 11 – December 16, 2007
Join with Catholic Worker and fill a shoebox with toys and necessities for children in need. Pamphlets are available after services beginning November 1st. Boxes will be blessed on December 16th. Last year we donated 179 boxes. Let's beat that this year!
Young Children's Telling of the Christmas Story
December 24, 2007 – 3:00pm
Designed for families with young children, this interactive service includes full Holy Eucharist.
Christmas Eve Pageant - December 24, 2007 - 5:00pm
A wonderful service for all the family with children's pageant and live animals! A beautiful Christmas Eucharist with traditional carols and the Christmas story with opportunities for every child to participate.
Heifer Project
February 6 – April 6, 2008
Support our Church School and Preschool students in their annual Lenten outreach project - Heifer International. They will be campaigning to raise money to provide livestock to families in need. Let's beat last year's donation of $5,300!
Children's Good Friday Service
March 21, 2008 – 4:00pm
Join us for a short service designed for families with young children. Children gather on the altar steps and become part of an interactive retelling of the Good Friday story.
Easter Egg Hunt
March 23, 2008 – Following the 10:30am service
Join the fun at St. Paul's annual Easter Egg Hunt. Separate hunting area for our littlest bunnies (4 and under).
Earth Day Planting Party
April 20, 2008 – 10:30am service
Join us for a children's planting party in the children's garden. Wear your grubbies and bring garden gloves and a trowel if you have them. Parent volunteers are always welcome!
Pentecost International Procession
May 18, 2008 – 10:30am
Join us for an international celebration of Pentecost. Children will participate in a procession into church at the beginning of service, each representing a different country.
