EFM - Education for Ministry

Tuesdays, 6:30pm Wayne Kempe, Mentor

EFM is a distance-learning theological education program for laity operated by the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. It provides a comprehensive, experiential education in the foundations and message of our Christian faith. It is for people who want to develop greater knowledge about the baptismal ministry we all share and to prepare for greater involvement in lay ministries or to prepare to be better teachers or church leaders.

Completion of the program takes four years, during which participants study the Bible, church history and modern theology. Participants commit for one year at a time and meet weekly in a local seminar facilitated by a mentor. At St. Paul's, the mentor is Wayne Kempe. Registration takes place in the fall, but inquiring individuals may visit a seminar any time during the year.
